1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can ask your browser to store on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, and — on many sites — to measure usage or deliver advertising. Similar technologies such as local storage and session storage work in comparable ways. This policy uses the word "cookies" loosely to cover all of them.
2. Our overall approach
We try to use as little storage as possible. We do not run any third-party analytics that profile visitors, we do not embed advertising trackers, and we do not use cookies to follow you across other websites. The only piece of storage we actively use is the one that remembers whether you have closed the small privacy notice that appears the first time you visit.
3. Cookies and storage we actually use
3.1 Strictly necessary
- cookieConsent — a local storage entry created when you close the privacy notice. It only stores the value "1" and is read by our website to know that the notice does not need to be shown again. It contains no personal information.
3.2 Loaded by third-party services
- Google Fonts — our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address and basic browser information as part of this request. It does not set tracking cookies for typeface delivery.
- Phosphor Icons (unpkg) — our pages load an icon stylesheet from a public CDN. The CDN may log standard request information for delivery and security purposes.
- Google Maps — the embedded map on our contact page is provided by Google. If you interact with the map, Google may set cookies under its own policy.
You can read more about how these third parties handle data in their own privacy and cookie statements.
4. How long the cookie is stored
The cookieConsent entry stays in your browser's local storage until you clear site data. Because it is local storage rather than a classic cookie, it does not have a server-side expiry. If you ever want to reset it, clearing site data for our domain in your browser will return the privacy notice to its default state.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Modern browsers give you full control over cookies and storage. You can choose to block all cookies, to allow only first-party cookies, or to clear stored data at any time. If you block all storage for our domain, the privacy notice will appear on each visit, but the rest of the site will continue to work normally. The help pages of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all describe the relevant settings clearly.
6. Do Not Track and global signals
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" header or use the Global Privacy Control signal. Because we do not use tracking cookies in the first place, there is nothing for us to honour or ignore beyond what we already do by default. Your visit is treated the same way regardless of which signals your browser sends.
7. Changes to this policy
If we begin using any new tools that involve cookies or comparable storage, we will update this page and adjust the privacy notice on the site accordingly. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. We do not anticipate adding behavioural advertising or cross-site tracking in the future, as it does not align with how we work.
8. Talking to us about cookies
If you have a question about anything described above, or about how a third-party service handles your data when interacting with our website, we will do our best to help. The fastest way to reach us is through the form on our contact page or by phone during studio hours.
